printing the 3D model

PRINTING THE MODEL

-
The printer has a “build plate” or platform that will dip into a vat of resin over and over for hours. Very thin layers of resin will be cured one at a time to gradually produce the model on the plate. Fumes from resin are toxic so we use a fume hood with a powerful exhaust fan and the plexiglass sash protects us from resin splashes. This enclosure also helps maintain the perfect temperature for resin to print.
